Request For Discussion
This is a Request For Discussion on the creation of a newsgroup
dedicated to the discussion of techniques, ideas, problems and
solutions for users of products from Wavefront Technologies.
NAME
comp.soft-sys.wavefront
STATUS
unmoderated
CHARTER
Discussions of a technical nature for people who use the entire
spectrum of software products from Wavefront Technologies,
Santa Barbara CA, including The Advanced Visualizer,
The Data Visualizer, The Video Composer, Dynamation,
Kinemation, Advanced Paint etc. It is intended for users with
all levels of experience, so that the inexperienced can learn
from the those with more experience.
RATIONALE
High end animation and visualization systems have reached a
point where they are so powerful, that it takes months if not
years to master the software. Companies such as Wavefront have
very good technical support hot lines, but often you need to
speak with someone who actually uses the product in a production
environment. There are thousands of Wavefront users on every
continent and we need a way to communicate with each other.
The perfect solution is a newsgroup that is carried on the main
backbone.
CALENDAR
The discussion period will be from September 11th to October 11th.
If there are no serious problems, the first CFV should be on or
about October 12th, 1993, and the voting period will last 22 days.
Please make sure that ALL discussions regarding this RFD take place
only in news.groups.
If you have ANY comments or questions, please do not hesitate to
contact me, Alan Kennedy at alan.kennedy@canrem.com. If you do
not hear back from me within a day or two, please send your
message again. If you do have problems reaching me, please try
me at akennedy@io.org.
FYI
This RFD is being cross posted to the following other newsgroups;
