RATIONALE
---------
Kerala is a state in the south of India,
with a population of 25 million. The
language spoken is Malayalam. Expatriate
Keralite population groups are concentrated
in North America and the Middle East, but
present in lesser numbers all over the world.
alt.culture.kerala was formed about two years
ago and has grown into a electronic community that is
primarily devoted to issues that relate to the south
indian state of Kerala, but reflecting the diverse
interests that ackers --as readers of alt.culture.kerala
call themselves -- pursue. And this has ranged from
recipes for Ingima to Mohan Lal movie lists and
from ritual suicide in Japan to EPR teleportation.
The burgeoning of newsgroups seem to have caused a
policy of filtering out alt* hierarchy newsgroups at
major sites. This is limiting the distribution of
alt.culture.kerala.
To continue the growth of the ack community
it is proposed to create soc.culture.indian.kerala
CHARTER
