Base64
Base64 is a base-64 MIME content transfer encoding that uses the characters A−Z, a−z, and 0−9 in that order for the first 62 digits. In order to view and download certain newsgroup/usenet headers, its necessary to retrieve the information in this format. Modified versions of this extension exists which replace default characters in order to work better with unified systems to translate. As an example, XML conding, most popularly known for not only generating RSS feeds, but also to generate lists of headers that correspond to news readers require a variant of this encoding process to propertly replace default characters to a similar syntax.
