CALL FOR VOTES:	Unmoderated newsgroup comp.sys.alliant

VOTING PERIOD:	February 1, 1990 to March 1, 1990.

SUMMARY OF DISCUSSION:

The proposal to create a newsgroup dedicated to the Alliant series of
computers was well received. Some expressed a concern that there will
be little interest, judging by the lack of participation by most users
in ALLUS, the Alliant Users Society. However, I feel that there is
sufficient interest to call for a vote.

CHARTER:

The unmoderated group will be used for discussion of any issues related
to systems produced by Alliant Computer Systems.

HOW TO VOTE:

Votes must be sent VIA E-MAIL to the following address:

	[email protected]

Clearly indicate whether the vote is for (YES) or against (NO) the
proposal, preferably by adding the vote to the subject line.

Voting relates to comp.sys.alliant as proposed and nothing else; if
you disagree on the proposed name or charter, vote NO or abstain ---
conditional votes like "YES if ..." or "NO unless ..." will be
ignored.

The identity of the voters (E-mail & name) will be extracted from the
letters containing the votes for posting the voting results.
