REQUEST FOR DISCUSSION

soc.history.reenactment

PURPOSE OF GROUP

The group is intended as an information and discussion centre for
re-enactment groups of all periods to advertise their group, swap ideas
on specific periods and to give lists of show dates interested people may
want to attend. Some newsgroups contain a little re-enactment based
traffic, but as far as i know, there is no group which deals with the
topic exclusively.

This post is intended as a `test of the water' and for people to post
me with ideas for charter and moderation.

If i receive any feedback from this i will collate it into a second
request for discussion with more information.

Please use the news.groups channel for open discussion articles.

2nd Request for Discussion

soc.history.reenactment

After recieving *lots* of post in favour of creating this newsgroup i feel
confident putting down a few more details.

Charter

soc.history.reenactment will exist to serve as an information exchange
for re-enactors of all periods from all countries for the purposes
of advertising the existence of groups, swapping information regarding
such as fighting technique through or availiability of
materials such as cloth and leather, advertising shows and articles
on authenticity, provenance or anything to do with battle or living
history reenactment.

The group will not be moderated.

It is hoped that cross-postings will be limited to regular FAQ`s say
on a monthly basis. Those groups that will recieve this message can
expect this cross-post.
