Since more than half of  the postings are politics-related, many readers are calling for creation of a new newsgroup concentrating on political ( or non-political) topics. It is hoped that such a new forum should lessen the bandwidth of s.c.c.  This is a proposal to create a politics-related newsgroup under the name of something similar to "soc.culture.china.politics" or "soc.politics.china". It  is for our discussion to decide:  1. whether this news group is necessary,  2. what its name should be,  3. its charter and whether it should be moderated, and 4. if creation of more groups ( like "soc.culture.china.help") is necessary.  Following the usenet regulations, the discussion will be taking place on  "news.groups", and will last for at most a month. Please direct your opinions to that group instead of "soc.culture.china".
